GeHost hosting includes Softaculous in cPanel, which installs WordPress in a few clicks without downloading anything.
Before you start
- An active hosting plan and access to cPanel.
- Your domain pointed to GeHost (see the nameservers guide). You can install first, but the site only opens on the domain after propagation.
Step by step
- Sign in to cPanel and look for Softaculous Apps Installer (use the search at the top).
- Click WordPress, then Install.
- Under Choose Protocol, pick
https://. Under Choose Domain, pick your domain. - Leave In Directory empty so the site opens on the domain itself (or enter a folder such as
blog). - Fill in the site name, the admin username, a strong password and your e-mail. Avoid "admin" as the username.
- Click Install and wait for the completion message.
After installing
The WordPress dashboard is at https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin. Keep WordPress, themes and plugins up to date and only use plugins from trusted sources.
