How to install WordPress from cPanel (Softaculous)

GeHost hosting includes Softaculous in cPanel, which installs WordPress in a few clicks without downloading anything.

Before you start

• An active hosting plan and access to cPanel.
• Your domain pointed to GeHost (see the nameservers guide). You can install first, but the site only opens on the domain after propagation.

Step by step

1. Sign in to cPanel and look for Softaculous Apps Installer (use the search at the top).
2. Click WordPress, then Install.
3. Under Choose Protocol, pick https://. Under Choose Domain, pick your domain.
4. Leave In Directory empty so the site opens on the domain itself (or enter a folder such as blog).
5. Fill in the site name, the admin username, a strong password and your e-mail. Avoid "admin" as the username.
6. Click Install and wait for the completion message.

After installing

The WordPress dashboard is at https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin. Keep WordPress, themes and plugins up to date and only use plugins from trusted sources.
